  • Near-Surface Electro Magnetic Frequency Induction Scanner - NEMFIS

Near-Surface Electro Magnetic Frequency Induction Scanner (NEMFIS) was developed in Russian Science Academy by Institute of Geophysics. Non-destructive NEMFIS tool can be used to identify precisely archaeological targets. In fact electromagnetic induction (EMI) method has been used for many years in the exploration for ore bodies (ore bodies contain metal and, therefore, are good electrical conductors), and, more recently, to detect voids but at present NEMFIS tool is widely used for archaeological studies.
The device applied for many tasks. Unique archaeological targets were found by NEMFIS in Mongolia, Italy and Russia. A lot of lost buried communications and leakages from subsurface pipes were located, ground water contamination and water saturation of soils were explored.

While several archaeological works including Paleolithic, Bronze and Iron ages, antique and medieval targets was discovered. That works was made with complex of geophysical instruments: GPR, Vertical DC sounding and magnetometry together with NEMFIS. In some cases only NEMFIS data shows the buried targets and it was proved immediately by excavation.

    ADD ON

World release of Ground Scanner NEMFIS was May 17, 2009.

As you know Scanner Nemfis was manufactured by Russian Science Academy at 2002 years. From that time we have collect big statistic of search work with Nemfis by archeologists, geophysics, engineers and other specialists from different institutes of Russian Science Academy complex and local customers.

We can say with confidence that scanner Nemfis is the first in the world that can give to operator with such accuracy underground conductivity spread. Operator visualize maps from each 14 freqs in real time.

We have made the system that give you 3D graphic of underground 8m layer of conductivity spread, thats very simple to analyze. With this scanner you can easily find following objects: ferrous and non-ferrous metal objects, cavity, ceramic or organic objects, and else. Maximum deep of scanning – 8m. For example object 20х20cm it is possible to find at 3m underground, metal object 100×200cm possible to find at 6,5m underground.

Every non-professional user can learn to work with scanner and analyze the graphic information in very short time.

Scanner has unique patent technology of receiving and analyzing electromagnetic waves. This searching device generate electromagnetic waves by 14 different frequencies from 2,5 to 250 kHz.

Now we are start to export the first non-contact scanners that can receive full and very accuracy 3D information about underground 8m layer of conductivity spread in real-time. You can order Ground Scanner Nemfis by contact with at http://nemfis.ru/en

Use final audio/video codecs for your player to see video files.

      NEMFIS

This seems to have some potential. If something like this really works to locate ore bodies it would be worth the price...however the catch is it will be difficult to sell without hands on use at this price.

Do you have of these in the U.S. and will they rent them out for a 1 or 2 day test?
