  • Geophysics Magnetic susceptibility meter

anyone know a patent or circuit of how to make something similar to one of these sm-30 pocket magnetic susceptibility meters to read the SI magnetic content of hot rocks

looks like it is a kind of BFO device but not sure.
    Thanks in advance

    Re: Geophysics Magnetic susceptibility meter

    Rob,

I have a book on Mining Geophysics by the Society of Exploration Geophysicists that has a couple of schematics. I don't have a scanner but if you email me your address I will zerox it and send it to ya. Pretty cheap and quite simple to build.

      Re: Geophysics Magnetic susceptibility meter

A few years ago I designed and built a BFO type mag susceptibility meter. Like BFO metal detectors, it wasn't very sensitive, but apart from that it was a good little unit.
