  • What Else is Inside the Fish???

Other than the transducers, what else is inside of the fish?

Also, how much power do you think will be required to operate the system?

    Patrick,

The electronics will be Transducer driver, echo receiver/amplifier, digitizer and communication.

Do not know yet the voltage on transducer but electronics work on +5V. (4.75V-5.25V)

So for battery you need at least 8 Volt, as regulator has about 3V Voltage drop over them.

Best is to take regular 12V battery.

Offhand(!) I would think we need about 1-2A for electronics when using CMOS (I will) or 2-3A when using TTL.

Again, this is just an educated guess.

    I am using a 12V/7Ah ledgel battery.

These batteries can be bought everywhere, I bought mine (as batch of 4) at a shop selling radio controlled for about $12.50 each.

However, they may be a bit to large for your fish, size wise.

Charge circuit for them is very simple, have some schematics if you need them.

    Regards, Jan.
