  • PIC programming

    Hi Jan,

I have the Picstart Plus Development Programmer, which is used to write to the PIC chips. Is that the same as the PIC Basic compiler? I also have two PICDEM-2 DEMO BOARD’s which are great for testing and debugging . Saves a lot of time, you don’t have to do a lot of wiring and it works for most of the PIC chips.

    Regards, Tod

    Re: PIC programming

    Tod,

The Picstart programmer is the tool to write the ready made programs to the PIC

    Its part of MPLAB.

Picbasic is the tool to write the programs.

There are 2 versions: a) Pickbasic and b) Picbasic Pro.

I have ordered the Picbasic Pro, because I want to have full possibilities on PIC.

See the link below for more details.

    Looks very good indead.

Might use PIC for everything I want to have ..

I have downloaded the schematics + software for a nice programmer.

    That will do at first.

Will build programmer next week,... still working on my new regulated powersupplies.

All electronics done and tested, case is also ready.

Now just have to connect it all up again.. Poweron... (and duck ?? )

Then I will be ready for programmer and test circuits.

    Regards, Jan.
