Coil Calculator
By popular request, I have made the Coil Calculator available as a "sticky" thread.
An example of the user interface is shown below. One common mistake is to enter the diameter of the coil, instead of the radius, into the first field of the dialog box. Apart from that, it's relatively straightforward to use. Simply open the coilcalc.htm file in your favorite browser, which must have Javascript support. The calculator is based on Brook's equation, which yields more accurate results than the more well-known Wheeler's equation.
