  • Bill Hays Electronics are NO MORE?

    Hey guys, I have been searching and searching the internet trying to find a place to
    buy my search coil housing, so I can make my own coil. When I go to what WAS Bill Hays Electronics the website has sold and I cant find anything there.
    Anybody purchased one elsewhere on the net?
    Where do we go now?

      You could try this Bulgarian company ->
      http://www.powerline-bg.com/index.html
      I cannot find any prices on-line, so you'll probably have to email them. They accept PayPal, and will ship to the U.S.A.

      And here's another ->

            One thing worth pointing out, is that Bill's coil housing are vacuum formed, whereas the housings I've obtained from Bulgaria are injection molded.

              Yes, quality housing (those Bulgarian), mostly out of ABS plastic too. I am buying some pieces from Georgi which he offer here on Geotech.

                What is the difference between vaccum formed and injection molded?

                  Where is the information about Georgi and his coil housings. I can't find it, so any link or specifics will help.

                  Thanks,

                      In this particular case, injection molded coil housings are stronger and higher quality, but have extremely high start-up costs. To reduce the cost per part, when using injection molding, you must produce a large volume. The fact they are made in Bulgaria also keeps the price down.
