A.H. Pro was active from the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s. "A.H." were the initials for the company's founder Allen Hametta. All of the AH models were off-resonance designs and were some of the earliest hobby detectors with discrimination. While the AH models competed well against BFO designs of the era, a major drawback was that they lacked the depth of emerging VLF models, especially in mineralized ground where the VLFs excelled.
