A.H. Pro

A.H. Pro began in the early-mid-1970s making what was likely the very first pinpointing probe. They branched out into metal detectors and were active until the mid-1980s. "A.H." were the initials for the company's founder, Allen Hametta. All of the A.H. models were off-resonance designs and were some of the earliest hobby detectors with discrimination. While the A.H. models competed well against BFO designs of the era, a major drawback was that they lacked the depth of emerging VLF models, especially in mineralized ground where the VLFs excelled.

Much later, Hametta began producing pinpointer probes under the brand Intex thereby bringing his work full-circle. Information on Intex products is included in this page.
