The "No target" voltage to the ADC input can be anywhwere from 0 to 5 volts ... however somewhere between 1 and 4 volts gives you some headroom for the signal to move up or down ( if descrim is required then the voltage might move up for ferrous and down for non ferrous ).

The input voltage to the ADC must already have been filtered and ground balanced.

The analogue IN can accept a voltage from 0 to 5 volts and is approximately 17 bit accurate ( yes 17 real bits ..... ) The analogue input expects to see a signal that consists of a relatively stable base voltage that varies as targets are passed over ... so it is a motion detector.

I would be guessing the spelling is wrong, but if you change it to SF18G you'll find a result in google.

EDIT I'm just using 1N4007 at the moment

Andrew is this what you are looking for ?
and I think you have to use the pickit2 software to use UART function

    Found it

If you are only burning the hex files and want to use the inbuilt UART tool ( serial comms ) to talk to the UNIP chip ( saves wiring up an LCD ) get the pickit software here ....
