The German company is not able to get one for me (they say).

Regarding Sture's homepage I'm quite familiar about the web-address you submittted. However, the information I was talking about was a certain project that he was doing for the same Danish guy that sold the towfishes on ebay. This information was published on Sture's new webpage http://www.sidescan.eu.
What he did is that he constructed a new SPU for the Dowty Towfish and integrated it with a laptop PC. There was also scan images from tests with this new SPU.

Any idea's on a suitable cable?

I've sent a PM to Glenn in order to try to persuade him to make photocopies or scan the documentation of the equipment. If anyone else has any documentation on the Towfish and/or the original SPU I will gladly make a economic contribution if I can share it.

Sture's project

For those interested Sture Hultqvist has made a new SPU for the Dowty/Ultra Towfish. He published some information on this on the net (www.sidescan.eu) but unfortunately all information is gone now.

It would be interesting to learn how he did this.

Another thing that maybe someone of you could help me with:
Need suitable cable for my towcable.
Should have at least eight separate wires and be flexible.
No need of kevlar reinforcement since I got a lightweight towfish (9kg) and will only use 100-150m of cable.
Resonable price (maximum 2$ per meter)
Any ideas on a supplier?

I fond in this thread that you own schematics for the Ultra Electronics towfish. As I just had the luck to get one I need any information I can get to build a SPU. I plan to to it from scratch, based on the signaling information I hopefully can get.

Depending where you are located, the shipping will vary.
But I am asking US$1000.- for the cable and 2 pcs. of 100kHz transducers.

I even have a "never used" Waverly towfish, 3000 system, for sale if there are any one interessted in this.

They actually DO have a value for me, as spare parts, but I don't think that I will ever need it.
If I get a fair offer for the pair of transducers, I will sell them.
