This is very bad news and I feel sorry for you. Some good idea might be to send the stuff back to Greece so
Arionas can test it.

An even better idea: Ask Arionas that he creates some complete ready to go circuit board for you
which he has already connected to a coil and proven works.
Next he can send you the PCB and the coil with a seperated delivery and all you have to do is
to wait until you got both parcels and just connect the coil and put everything into some housing.

Option 3: Please try to find some already complete and ready-to-go metal-detector - somewhere, somehow ...
It would saves you alot additional hassle and time.
It cannot be that impossible at Egypt - a land full of "treasure-hunters" , to get a metal-detector.

When the opportunity is easy going I will visit for sure Egypt! This is a fascinating country
as long as someone is not with murderers on a Nile-ship-cruise! *just joking* (this is an Agatha Christie novel and movie called: Death On The Nile)
And as long as somebody doesn't get the "curse of the pharao" which means eating something wrong and then
sitting all day on the toilet! I am just making a little bit fun! Egypt is fantastic if there would be a little bit more freedom and liberty again.

The egyptian people for sure know how to organize super celebrations! The wedding is great and full of energy!

I know arabic women are hot blooded / temperamentful and can be dangerous, Eve (from Adam and Eve, the old paradise-story...) also was arabic!
I guess it was somewhere in Irak.

The only ethnical group who really is in control of the women are the turkish and kurdish people, but even there many women meanwhile "play crazy".

The old eastern-arabic gold came either from Solomon mines (Yemen) or from Ethiopia. Meanwhile alot is mined in Middle-West-Africa (Ghana etc.)
I hope the tourism will go upwards again for Egypt otherwise the beaches might run empty by times. Then you have to search for antique gold!

L1 is the search coil and if metal comes near it changes
the tank-circuit (L1 together with C2 and C3). The transistor amplifies the result.
The on the plan not visible audio- or light-signal output (the speaker)
is between R3 (below R3) and ground (- pole of the battery in this case).

You will have the parts for shure to built it and if it will not work
we have here enough people who can help you to make it work.
Because this is one of the most simple metal-detection-schematics ever.

Hammerhead, how dangerous is military regime for you in Egypt?
Because I have heard that 1000s of people just have vanished.
If it is no big problem for treasure-hunting you may be better off if you go to Cairo and look for
the real big deal as it is shown in some videos.

Because only with metal-detecting on the beach you might not get alot money.

a metal-detector! Or if they know tourists who will get some money from you so
