I have yet to find a step by step for the IDX , ill be happy to help anyway I can, limited as my help is lol. This week I get the VID working on it! One thing, be mindful of the speaker , If you can, use a 32ohm speaker, I had to replace the MPSA13 and its paired npn transistor, they both got hot and one or both blow, im pretty sure it was the speaker that caused this.

A little progress was made, I swapped all the 393's and the 358's and i'm now able to discriminate , but the GB is still at the very end of the POT, same if I use a 20K or a 50k .

OHHH ok I get it! you meant the board layout is not the best it could be, although I am sure you are right, others have made this and they seem to work correctly ???

Im not sure what you are suggesting I to do to solve this.

It made me crazy.
Here is the back side, I will re look with a magnifying glass. If you are wondering why one resistor is put on the back side, its because I wanted the lead to be used for the Y if I was going to put a VID on it at one point.

I doubt that very much the IC's that are on it now, Andy AKA silverdog sent them too me, I also have spares that I got from Digikey, there is something else wrong, Perhaps the 3.3? its not a Polyfilm but was sent by Andy so I figure it is good for it as with the 650p that next to the 553 ?its also not a polyfillm box. I doubt that's the problem though.
