Quite same story from my grandfather, long ago in the 70"s they were having a drink till late night (normal here after wine is made ) So by 2 am when they went towards back yard they saw flames from the ground. Next day the grandfather started digging a huge hole few meters by few meters but could not find anything.
Now imagine i took this virus so i carry on with metal detecting ...lol
These are some pics of the phenomena... opinions, views are different from one to another...But really interesting trough, there is no smoke without fire ...
Multi dintre dumneavoastra ati auzit povesti in care se spune ca aurul ingropat "joaca", adica emite flacari de culori diverse care se vad m...

    I tried to examine that.
In fact; such phenomena happened on several occasions in my backyard , repeating during several years.
Almost everybody from my family witnessed that.... EXCEPT ME!!!
Somehow it is not "given" to me to see that!
I'm sure a bulldozer will let you see all....

Might be a correlation with the Halo effect which we cant properly understand yet ?
This article is mythology but is good to know it as well...can we find scientific parallel as well? Long ago people were primitive but they always observed things...and formed a belief.

First time that it was noticed was back than in 1974. by my grandmother. Late afternoon, summer time, July/August.
And than year by year it repeats and random trespassers witnessed it many times.
    But not me!
Last time that happened was back than in 1996/97. Not really sure.
    And than it stopped. Disappeared.
    Again i haven't witnessed it!
    ...
I can't tell is it having any relation with any kind of "hallo" effect. Personally i doubt.
According to what i have read in many articles (some links here too); i don't think that there is any relation.
I would rather tend to believe that it has something to do with some sort of natural flammable gas.
Because it is very often witnessed phenomena, i do hear about that very often.
But i never saw it by myself so far!

I was asking a simple yes or no question and now I have my answer thanks, I did not ask about theory's I asked did you actually try it, I am happy now.

This is a circular argument. It does not matter if I tried it or not. What matters is how it works. Definitely not on Halo effect.
So my answer is no and you can dismiss everything I say. Is it not what you are after?...

Tried it or not is irrelevant. What's relevant here is the scientific basis. And Halo effect have no basis in this case.

The question still stands have you tried YES or NO

It's already starting with "ionic (or ionized) ground" which is totally wrong!
Because you would need to charge the ground with high voltage first - 100.000v or something.

Read about "free radicals"! There is a huge difference of missing electrons in air because of high voltage
and somewhere buried. And it doesn't matter what kind of electrons these are - metal finds or from mineralized stones!

Next: You can't charge the ground! What's possible is to send some current or frequency through the soil
from A to B. But this has nothing to do with ions at all.

Inside the ground there is no oxidation because there is no air.
What we get there is corrosion caused by water. But the corrosion-results can get washed
away by water as long as the find is not good packed inside some clay or loam!

Inside of the clay and loam you can see some "Rust-Halo" but so far I have not
recognized that this rusty dirt around the iron-finds would improve the depth !!!

And other finds simply don't corrode, rust or oxidate much!
They keep their metal they have for itself and don't give it away to the ground!

btw. if this depth doubler from Compass Metal Detectors really would have ever worked
as claimed I'm sure we would see it still worlwide available and highly praised!
But the opposite is the case !!! Nobody cares about this not working "miracle" crap!

    And last but not least:
1st there is no ionic-charged field below the ground
and 2nd metal detectors would NOT react on such field anyway because
they are no high-voltage static field receivers!
And even if there would be somewhere an ionic field below it would be shielded by the soils surface!

For luck we have Georgi from Nexus here who can show us what really counts!
A good amount of voltage to reduce noise and to create good eddy-currents!

And what we absolutely not need are "ghosthunters"-style magic energy fields
because we have real working metal-detectors and no Ghost-Busters equipment!

    P.S.
BTW is this is the last chance before this topic dies too; i would like to place appeal here for those who are having approach to Compass Depth Doubler!
By any chance if it would be possible to provide here more details upon that device.
    Any details? Schematic maybe?
    Any useful info?

All in all if this thread gets to validate the possibility of double depth because of Halo effect or what ever else other magic is in the ground, then consequently the claims about the Deus will have to be accepted as truth as well, right?

What a pile of horse manure!....

The coin received an insulating layer (Oxidation layer)
The generated eddy current en the electromagnetic field in the coin (that has been generated by the electromagnetic field of the coil) now is stronger and the detector can detect more easily (deeper)
This is because there are less current leakage to the soil through the oxide layer.

@Davor; look up for "Computer Models" in that article.

    "...
    1) calculate the distribution of free metal ions and metalligandcomplexes in a soils solution..."
