    Apart from the fact "longitudinal wave" only describes a propagation characteristic and you have not described what ( EM, acoustic, magnetic etc ) the wave is. I would say that this no more than psuedo science LRL speak and that if you want to detect these types of waves go down to the beach and ask a surfer .... they are very good at detecting waves.

    Tesla is my hero, have a very old book on him, use to read it from cover to cover over and over again while at school, im 53 now and still have the book although tatty now its still my number one.

    On the Science Channel they have a show called "Dark Matters". One of the episodes was about Tesla & his claim that he could transmit vast amounts of energy wirelessly anywhere he wanted. Supposedly he had a huge tower built on the east coast (New Jersey or New York?) to demonstrate this, and one of his demonstrations coincided w/ the Tunguska explosion. The US Gov did take down his tower, and confiscated all his research material after he died. Makes for interesting TV show at the very least !

    Your "sympathetic resonance" theory is old hash; many people have proposed it before and many scam devices have been produced and sold to gullible believers. Some people even propose that diseases have particular frequencies, and that e.g. cancer can be cured simply by applying the correct resonant frequency. Gullible believers in this theory are mostly dead.

    http://www.longrangelocators.com/forums/index.php is the proper venue for the discussion of frequency resonance. It will get no traction here. When you have something tangible to demonstrate, that's when Geotechers will perk up.

    Hi.
    Our colleague has an absolute right.
    It should be mentioned yet your Max Planck and Paul Dirac and expression "hv" (v= frequency) associated with discrimination.
    Also worked on this a few years ago!
    Recently I was in the hands of a measuring instrument to study the composition of the material (butt welded). Very small lamp X-ray supplied 40kV and sensor, all in the form of a gun from the screen as the I-pad, the composition could be read as a percentage.
    There remains problems: energy trigger, depth, sensitivity, width of the beam, noise, etc.
    Then the split will be all the treasures and the Nobel Prize.

    I really doubt that you can teach our expert mikebg something usefull.

    And seems your theory suit more to this optimistic dream forum:

    But I am sure that we all (including mikebg) are interesting in your discrimination tests based on full the valance of outer atoms shell.

    May I ask you something? What if your theory is too simple to survive in real world? As I understand your discrimination method is based on presumption that in metal detecting we are dealing with 100% pure pieces of metal. This, sorry, is not true in real world. If we talk about gold, precisely natural gold, then no one gold nugget are the same alloy of different metals as others nuggets are. The same with pieces of other metals in soil, all is about very different alloys. Practically nothing is out of pure 100% (of specific) metal and at the same time practically nothing of the same alloy too. How your alternate signal can deal with those "electron mass spectrometry" fact? Did you already tested it?

    My post is about detecting metals . If you do not understand the theory
    that is ok but don't make assumptions that other readers would
    not be interested in a possible new way to discriminate metals .
    I would also like to add that Tesla is the founder of all the machines you use.
    Maybe you need to learn more about electronics or detectors such as VLF , BFO , PI before
    you consider someone an outcast . I find it very funny you do not realize
    that ALL METAL DETECTORS USE ALTERNATING CURRENT .
    For you to not want to goto the source of it's founder is mind boggling . Just because
    your detector runs on 9 volt DC batteries does not mean it is a DC electronic device
    since in reality it changes it to AC .
    quit speaking for others and maybe you will learn something new .
    I posted in a metal detecting forum because that is the type
    of machine I want to build . I don't want to build one like those that
    are out there already .
