cnc is coming along, my brother built one, i thought about it but i can use his, anyway i'm more of a 3d printer kind of guy!
making prototypes was my work thing (years ago), i was taught the hand build methods, the forms of 3d printing there were, were exprimental expensive and useless at anything other than solid scale models, but today they can easily make all those fiddily parts and save loads of time.

I am was not expecting that we are going to a good metal detecting beach tomorrow and its not finished wouldn't you know it ! so no treasure finding apart from kicking up the sand .Originally posted by Thomas View Postyou really are making good progress, you will be out finding treasure soon, best of luck.
All the hard parts of it are done just a little bit on panel mounting the controls i can see are needed, and that water proofing of the coil case .

I can rotate the thing around but i will look at that when i get around to working on it later this week that and my CNC build is keeping my mind busy ! if i ever get it going i could make a coil case on the CNC !Originally posted by sinclairuser View Postyou might want to drill out the pop rivet that holds the handle on, replace it with a self tapping screw, if you look at the last pic the handle is pointing down, if you rotate it so it points up its more comfortable, at least i think so.
looks good so far.
I ended up going back to Masters to get the hardener for my fiber glassing resin so i can work on that now ,more than likely Friday .
Yes so far so good !

i was just seeing what bolts will work to bracket the real PI case on.
It comes apart ...funny how half a rubber boat oar and a half a crutch fit together so well .
looks good so far.

Well the bolts came in a pack of 8 and 2 were different as in happy with the look of them .
I had a good look at both our big hareware shops and that was the best they had for this sort of bolt.
I would buy them off ebay too but apart from having to paint them this will do for this one .
Well i can live with a toilet seat bolt a toilet seat its self would really bother me ; )
Nylon brackets and bolts are hard to get here i have not seen them any where yet so just try to do the best with what i have and can get .
I didn't do to much today just drilled the bracket holes and glued those in and painted the bolt and nut washer and brackets black .

ha ha! great minds think alike, the first two coils i made i used those same nylon toilet seat bolts, though i then bought some "proper" ones of ebay uk, another tip those small nylon number plate bolts can be used if you need to bolt your coil pieces together, they are not long enough to hold the shaft on, but they do a good job of holding the flat plate with the coil ears to the disc holding the coil, and because they are nylon they can be left for extra strength after the glue sets.
