I was very excited to see there was an ITMD 3 (3.04) and I ordered it right away.
I've had it only a few days now and I am amazed at the work that must have gone into it.
Thank you.
I've had ITMD 2 since 2015, and it in itself is amazing.
I currently have a Whites Eagle II and a Minelab Equinox (besides pinpointers).
Seeing that details of these specific detectors were covered in ITMD 3 guaranteed that I would purchase it.
So far I have scanned through ITMD 3 and then started detailed reading with the chapter on ADC (Chapter 18 )
There is an incredible amount of insight/information regarding ADC techniques that broadly applies to electronics well beyond metal detectors.
In fact ITMD 2 and ITMD 3 are my favorite books on electronics period (and I have a lot of them),
I am also looking forward to reading the chapter on magnetic fields in detail.
This is something I have always had a hard time conceptualizing.
A side note, I'm not sure where it was recommended (ITMD 2 or Geotech website),
but I was able to find and purchase a copy of "The Magnetic Measurements Handbook", J. M. Janicke.
I'm excited to have it, though most of it is still over my head.
I read some people already hoping for an ITMD 4 in the forum, and I'm thinking "give the guy a break".
IMTD 3 was undoubtedly a massive undertaking and anyone would be justly proud of having it as the book they are known by.
Thanks again for ITMD 3 (and ITMD 4).
I'm glad I got it for $50, but it is truly worth much more than that.
One small suggestion, if a 3.05 iteration is released, add SAR to the glossary.
On page 334, 1st paragraph in 18.1.3 Oversampling and Dithering, "SAR ADC" was used.
I didn't know what SAR meant and it wasn't in the glossary, I thought it might even be a typo.
(SNR was used four other places on the same page)
It wasn't until I was back home with access to my computer that I googled "SAR ADC" and of course found the correct meaning.
