It has a similar faceplate to the Pulse Star 2.
The "Disc" label is wrong, though.
It's actually a Delay setting.
PS2 has a switch with 4 positions, a choice between 4 resistors.
However, a potentiometer is placed here.
It doesn't matter, it can be done that way, although the precision of the setting is less reliable.
Someone emailed me requesting a schematic and code for the PS2 Pro.
I don't have that. Nor do I know anyone who has it.
The PS2 Pro has two Microchip PIC controllers.
Both processors need to be reverse engineered.
And that is neither an easy nor a cheap task.
Nowadays, it is even unnecessary work.
Today it is possible to write your own code if you have the rest of the schematic.
But even that is a difficult task.
The PS2 Pro pcb is sealed with some clear epoxy resin.
Stripping the resin would drastically damage the copper connections and components.
Maybe there is some modern technique for removing epoxy that I don't know about.
I used methylene chloride to melt the resin in the coils.
It is a very aggressive process and it often happens that it destroys the varnish on the wire and the whole job fails.
If I ever get a PS2 Pro that isn't working; maybe i will try cleaning the pcb with methylene chloride but in a very controlled environment.
But that's by a long shot... I don't think that's going to happen.
All of that has become rather meaningless today.
Today, any slightly more educated hobbyist can make a better PI detector.
The whole "secret" of PS2 and PS2 Pro operation lies in the high stability of the digital circuits.
Common DIY PI projects suffer from this the most.
Oscillator, timings and critical parts are mostly made with cheap components and suffer from temperature drift and high inaccuracy.
Every PI project present on the forum can be made much better today, if those parts are moved to the digital domain and if quality components are used.
However, the PS2 and PS2 Pro marked an era. They were very popular in their time.

m very confused with my current detector, it works unsatisfactorily. Could you please share a mature pulse metal detector schematic with great depth and stability?
Please send to my email:[email protected]
Thank you!
