Hi all Geotechers,

you will get a mod you see at photos. with the mod your sov will work to be stable with 4, 6 or 8 AA or another tipe of sells from now. you will not be needed necessarily to use original necade battery pack. I stand additional connector for charging on batt pack and additional power switch at box too.

tested all day. on 6 pcs AA. their was too stabile and I did not touch THRESHOLD every ten minutes.

this posting of plumabob here below. I took it without his permission because Bod has not answered on my appeal and probably waits an answer from Sean G. my english is NOT so emottionally advanced to tell what I offer in this my thread, I long time waited some good comment... plumabob's one looks like I wanted.

I knew someone would ask about the batteries. It does not matter what type. It is not the same sound as when the battery is about to crap out. Freshly charged batteries in each machine. It's hard to explain but a pitch rise when over the target. Similar to an overloaded signal. Intermittant, does not happen all the time.

I bet ML now release thye Sovereign Extreme (which will probably have your mod in it). They are great at stealing other peoples ideas.. OOPS.. patents too from what I hear!

if you did set a connector in the batt compartment for a charge and are charging by the way, there is still one important thing I have to tell about. you can notice smt fuse resistor on a side PCB (look at photo). it is greatly limiting the charging current. simply connect it by wire jumper.

Требуется помощь, у меня подозрение, что в моем Sovereign Elite накрылся проц rev1.1, так как нет запуска. Нет управляющих сигналов на мост TX, при подключении датчика (как своего, так и чужого), резко возрастает потребление, регулятор LM2931 жестоко начинает греться. В отсутствие датчика все питающие напряжения на проце в норме.
Могу прислать свой проц почтой из Минска, нельзя ли подкинуть в твой Elite?

Для справки, все случилось тогда, когда я заменил нерабочий переменник "Notch". После включения вроде заработал правильно, дискрим заработал, но внезапно стала падать чувство по воздуху и до нуля. И все. Может ли проц не запускаться, если неполадка на плате управления, например, не доходит до порта проца какой-то уровень от переменников, переключателей?

Очень нужна помощь.

unstable work after 2.30hrs

same story from Peter Morgan copypasted...

Hi there looking for some advice I am using a GT with a 1000 tornado coil, on two separate times now beach detecting my machine starts of very stable then after about 2.30hrs in to detect the machine seems to become unstable. it seems that every time I came to the end of a swing with the coil then on to the return sweep the machine gives of a detected tone and this continues to go on in this manner, it make the GT hard to get on with. I have checked my coil connector to the box and that is tight. is it possible the coil is gone (but it has no problem finding and pinpointing targets) or the battery is on its way out (which was fully charged). or is it possible that it is the multi Frequency changing all the time. help help help....

Hi Peter, I have exactly the same problem with my Sovereign Elite when down the beach. The machine is fine for a couple of hours then it gets so unstable I have no hope of hearing any tiny deep signals. I think it is a coil problem (Tornado 1000) though I'm not aware that I have got it wet. Last time on the beach I used my 15" coil (NEL) and didn't have any problems. I think I will have to attempt to look at the cable where it enters the coil. Strangely though, after about 15 minutes of this dreadful instability, the detector can settle down fine again which made me wonder if it was a problem with some sort of electrical interference source from a ship or mobile phone.

Hi peeps problem here is with my sovereign GT rechargeable battery minlab pack machine is very unstable and I believe one if the cells have gone caput!! As it was fully changed and only lasted 2hrs when I put in my standard battery pack in the unit it ran like a sovereign GT. For the rest of the day anyone able to help me out here is there a stable battery mod or can I replace the dead cell in my rechargeable battery pack thank you for looking from peter. ......
