I think was employed mostly for anti-tank mine searching... big stuff... and even under the snow that will give a reading on a simple bfo I think.
Probably, knowing the natural inclination of russians in that years, it's some modified fisher thing...
I remember I was looking at a doc movie about airplanes and spot that once the russians get the hands on a B29 just at the end of war they made a CLONE of it... TU-4 is a clone of B29!

Yes, the Soviet copies (who no!) many weapons. When they made incursion in Poland in 1939, discover that Poland use 1 shot anti tank rifle very effective for tanks and for other vehicles and copy this. (Was not effective for the German Tiger!).Originally posted by Max View PostHi,

Here this detector appears as a BFO type. Fisher launch his 2 boxes maybe in 1937 or 1939... maybe is not Fisher copy.
