Made some corrections, send also the Sprint Layout file now.....but I have not build the board (yet) so there can be errors in it !

If anybody make's the pcb it is at his own risk !! (pfff.. I do not like this...) but I have no time to make the pcb in the next weeks ...

- Q7 appears inverted.

According to a Fairchild Semiconductor datasheet, 2N5484~6 have interchangeable S and D terminals. Just make sure to get "G" in the correct hole and all is OK.

BUT... I don't know about the MPF102 being such a wonderful substitute. Some individual MPF102 devices may work better than others.

Thanks for the great work, Alexismex, ApBerg, Kt315. By the way, I apologize for having previously impugned the Baracuda circuit. My LTspice schmitt trigger models have important details "starred out". I was wrong.

Good work, you have good skill men!!!bravo... i have check your board i encounter :
- Q1 is TIP 127 not a Fet...
- Pin 4 of U2 goto C9 and pin 7 of U2 goto C8 ( the denomination is just inverted) ,not very important....
- D11 must be inverted ,ok
i just see that
For the moment it is ok because i check and recheck several times for make the drawing of the schematic ....NOW it is time to populated your board and go to the Baracuda party !!!! and also we have another schematic from the blurr copy that will confirm all data ...Efforts will give a good result and satisfaction ...because for me the Baracuda is much better that the Surf...far
When you check take the COIL L1 with inductance 453 uH and resistance 1R4

Hello Dom,
yes pin 7 of the 7660 is controled from the pulse PPS of the Barracuda in this way is syncronysed at the same Fcy, you can check in the photo the arrangment "off board"

about the filter your talking about Alex i Built mine by your hand drawn circuit it shows the resistor as 2m2 with the diode and 4n7 cap in parralel going to pin 7 of the 7660 also when i put my scope on pin 7 there is no signal coming out of it i must be missing something?
and when i read the data sheet on the 7660 says pin 7 is used to control the osscilator and reduce runing current as well as Synchronizing to an External Clock.

Good Dom,
For me the barracuda it is better that the surf with the audio filter,you see in the schematic and foto it is the R 100 K with a diode and a capacitor of 4700 pf ....this arrangment work great and give a sort "of two tone audio" : the audio from the PPS and the another from the sincro 7660 divide per two....a low-high tone

I have just built the Barracuda from your reverse engineered pc board and i can say it does work, good job Alexismex but i think i will change the output stage a bit, as the volume is a bit lacking and the led response lacks a bit in relation to the audio.
but i have also built the surf pi and this is much better i think.
