How does the performance of this compare to the surf PI

Hi everyone, I'm tossing up whether to build this or the SURF PI detector. Has anyone had any experience with both of these? I would like to build the one that has the best detection depth and offers some form of automatic ground balance (if any). Complexity of the circuit is not a major issue as I'm familiar with electronics.

The Mini Pulse Plus Rev. E is an excellent machine that you might want to consider. There is a lot of documentation for it in the projects section here.

The Baracuda is a very hot detector. I find it very good at the beach but the too responsive to the ground where I live. Here I need to run the Baracuda at reduced threshold. No problem in the surf though. The surf PI works great but the audio response is much softer.
