Dear friends I am a new subsriber from Italy .
Some years ago I got from Silverdog a kit MPP Beach rev-E and this was forget a lot of time in a drawer .
Last week finally I found in YOUTUBE the video of Surf Detector and so I begin to build the PI metal detector.
Following all te videos of Surf Detector I finished step 1-2-3-4-5 but using my scope in order to complete the step 6 I found a lot of problems because monitoring the TX oscillator at TP2 (ch 1) and TP6 (CH2) it was impossible to get some pulse for TP6, TP8,TP9,TP10 adjusting R37 trimmer ( as per fig.10 Sample Timing ). Maybe U7 and U10 were not working so I decided to change both MC14538BCB with others chips with the same specs . But nothing changed I can not see any pulse like in fig. 10 ( Sample Timing ) . I controlled all the solders , the value of R,C and all the other components but all seems ok .
So I'M BLOKED AT STEP 6 . I hope that some of you ( who already build this interesting metal detector ) can suggest to me a possible solution ( maybe some bad component or a measure to do ) in order to complete my job .
