  • Homemade Detector - Beat Frequency Machine Plans - Coil Design

I found this site while looking for ideas on the web. I'm not all that interested in the control box. Am looking at the coil design and would like to know if anyone has built this particular model. Would it work with the Surf PI kit? If not as is, what changes would have to be made to bring it up to PI specs?

It looks like the inductance may be close to what's needed for PI, but the copper shield looks difficult and overkill.

Thanks for your feedback, Carl. I have an old mono coil that works on the whites series 2 & 3 units, a whites 6B, 11" 5-ping female, 624-0209. Was wondering if that could be adapted to work with the Surf PI Kit.
