The cable used is Cat 6 or Cat 5.Originally posted by daverave View Postim a bit confused about this cat 6 cable...i looked on ebay and it looks very chunky cable...whats the advantage of this cable ???? will 16 turns of this fit into coil shell ????
This cable is used for data transmission, is composed of 8 conductors of 0.5 mm in diameter, in the case of Cat 6 the diameter is slightly larger, between 0.5 and 0.6 mm.
Another may use this cable between these values (0.5 or 0.6 mm) corresponding to 23 or 25 swg of acuero to the table.
The blindage we perform with Scotch tape No. 24.
In the image below is an example of a mono coil.

is it ok for me to use 30 swg copper wire...cause the resistance is going to be around 5 ohms at around 380 uH....should i use thicker gauge ??? teflon multi strand wire is not easy to get here in the uk and when i look on ebay im a bit confused as to which teflon wire gauge i should choose and most advertised are like short lengths...can you pls advise ???

DaveraveOriginally posted by daverave View Postwhats the inductance and resistance of your dual field coil ?????....surely the small coil would have more turns than the larger coil.
If you look at the diagram above, the total inductance is 380 uH, and the resistance is 2 ohms.
The inductance of the coil of a smaller diameter is smaller than the larger coil. Both coils have the same number of turns.
In fact, tests performed Aziz graphics mono coil, of one, two and three coils and in all cases the individual coils, have same number of turns.

Fact: It's prior art now.Originally posted by kt315 View Posttriple field coil of Aziz still is not patented by Minelab. http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showt...ght=Dual+Field

The cable used is Cat 6 for computer network can also be used Cat5.Originally posted by daverave View Postwhat swg gauge wire did you use for your coil ???? also did you wind both coils separately and then connect them together in series ????
They are two separate coils, with the same number of turns connected in series.
