It might be OK. Right now there is discussion on how much resistance per inch of graphite shielding is best for a PI. I did one with about 1300 to 1500 ohms / running inch and others have gone much lower. Green has run some plots that seem to indicate that 600 ohms/ inch is not detrimental to performance. No field tests yet though. My personal decision is to build only fast spider wound coils in a specific geometry that self shields and does away with all the brain damage that the shielding topic seems to create. Take a look at the 'Best Measurement for Graphite Shielding?' and the 'Chance PI coil' threads in this forum.
