tesoro early bandido

ihave a bandido which works perfect with 10"polo 8 1/2" dd 7" dd in all modes ,when i put a 4" coil on it will not work at all in disc mode ,but the coil works perfect on my other tesoros ie gold sabre, toltec 100, cutlass umax,any idea why this is?has anyone had the same problem?with the bandido,i do get signal in all metal.thanks

I am not 100% sure but think the early coils were center tapped and had a different phase or that could just be the Eldorado. Would explain why it does not work in disc as the range will be out possibly discriminating everything out.
