Correct, they will "talk" to each other and all you'll have is a mass of noise.

Using multiple coils in close proximity, problem?

It's way easier to just synchronize them. Some detectors can be synchronized rather easily, I've seen 3 MXT's sync'd for about the same purpose as what you want. Also, doing sequential operation will either cost you depth (if you switch very quickly) or coverage (if you switch slowly).Originally posted by monz View Postyea, but if I turn the firs coil on, get reading then turn off, move to the next coil and so on.
