I'VE BEEN TOLD THE MINELAB COMMANDER 12X15 MONO COIL WORKS GREAT ON THE TDI, TRUE OR FALSE?

All Minelab mono coils that I have tried work with the TDi. Also other aftermarket coils by Nuggetfinder and Coiltek.

I guess I should have been more specific, working and working efficiently, in other words would the commander be close to equal with the 12" DF stock coil? Depth, air test etc.

I believe all coils of a given size work much the same, despite claims that are sometimes made to the contrary. However, a DF coil is not quite the same as an elliptical mono. A 12 x 15 mono might have a slight edge on depth but pinpointing and tiny object sensitivity will be a bit better on the DF due to the small central coil. It's all about tradeoffs.
