  • Coil housing help please

    Hi every one I have almost finished my surf pi and I have learnt a lot . How to use a ociloscope etc
    but one thing that I'm having trouble with is potting my coil I have basket weave coil in a 28cm polo housing I bought off eBay. I think the same guy as posted them on here.
    WOULD LIKE ADVICE ON The best and lightest way potting the coil in the housing because it is in two half,s ?

    Not sure Why you want to POT IT?
    Better to just put it in the Housing with just a few dabs of hot melt glue to hold it in place.

      for pi simple pi coil it is enough if you fix it in housing with hot glue, the rest of the space can filled up with construction foam from a spray bottle
      fill all, then let it get hard and cut all away which dwells over

        Hello thanks for your advice what I also wanted to know was what glue do you recommend for gluing the two half,s together.

          Hello thanks for your advice. Because it's my first coil I didn't want do something that might effect the preformance of the coil.

              so does pipe weld work well on abs because my father is a plumber so I'll beg some off him!

                I just use MEK (Methyl Ethyl Keytone) to glue ABS.
                Acetone also works.

                  why people does not wish to RESEARCH the forum before asking something? this forum is fill of similar
                  matters on a glue... no need to repeat again one matter every day.
