  • Coil Equinox ,for Minelab Vanquish !?

Has anyone replaced the boards in the coils so that it can be used by VANQUISH !? They've done it on Russian forums, and here in Bulgaria, they say it works very well. Has anyone done it!?!?

I read on some Arab forum that a carburetor from a German Trabant (East Germany, during the cold war) can be installed on the XP Deus 2 and then the XP Deus 2 gains 148.5% in depth!
There is only one problem; very hard to find that carburetor today...

Here in Serbia, there is an old saying: "The fence next to the road may say "hole"... but that doesn't mean you have to run into it and try to stick your "finger" in it!"
In other words; you don't have to believe every nonsense that can be found on various forums.
Why would someone... for God's sake... cut one coil and take out a pcb from it, then cut another coil and put that pcb in it?
The people at Minelab are stupid, they have no idea, but some genius (who didn't wash his hands for 20 days) came up with it!
The problem is with the Trabant carburetor... it's very hard to find these days (maybe only Ebay)... but it's certainly not a problem with the new Minelab coils, they are everywhere, many models, easy to find.
Why would anyone do such a stupid thing?

I think this adapter is a better move.

This is a hobby, my Serbian friend. It is not necessary to always look for profit, at least I do not... I came across a new 540, with two antennas, I also have two 28 cm from E trak, so I will try it. And as for proverbs, we have one very convenient for this case...: "For every manja - a merudia...На всяка манджа - мерудия ...You will understand it in Bulgarian too, after all, we gave writing to the Slavs!?!?

                I didn't doubt your words.
But I was wondering what is the point of such acrobatics over coils?
I don't understand Russian very well, but I managed to understand the first few words.
The man in the video himself says in the announcement that it is an "unusual experiment".
The idea was so unusual and nonsensical that it's hard to believe that someone actually does it!
As we see; someone actually does it though!
                Okay, interesting enough.

But this now brings me back to some old stories about the ML business philosophy.
They make one platform and then based on it they make X(X) models!

In this hobby, everything is possible... both detectors are multi IQ, but if you put an Equinox coil on a Vanquish... it won't be an Equinox.
And Etrac coils, in my opinion, will have different parameters..

Enjoy the Vanquish 540 as it is... with two coils..

The new Vanquish 360,460,560 series can now also use Equinox coils..

I expected the X-Terra Pro coil to be the same as Equinox as well (it uses the same circuitry, just tops out at 15kHz) but it has a LTX=150uH whereas the Equinox LTX=100uH.

Do you happen to know what the tx frequencies are for the Vanquish?

The Vanquish runs in 'Permanent Eqx Beach Mode', so has the same 4 frequency components. ( 7.8k , 13k, 18.2k, 39k )

Thanks Skippy, I could never find a Minelab document that stated the frequencies only forum speculations. If you know of a document post the link.
