The trouble is being one man trying to do everything, thought that if I’m not going to make coils then , or should I say, this type of coil then smash The patentable design and claims so the big companies cannot patent.

OK .. well I can say from my own experience .. I put up a patent in Australia.
A certain company then patented ... lets say "an improved detector". .. not the real patent name .. and literally hid my patented idea inside a more complex looking circuit in an American patent.
This was before they negotiated any deal with me.

I think Carl has said it ... patents dont mean anything in terms of disclosure .. they dont hide information.
They are only a licence to punch someones ticket if you think they are infringing on your idea ... and to launch legal action requires nerves of steel, really deep pockets and poker faced intent.

They can take your idea and patent it ... who's gonna challenge it ?

I moved this to its own thread.

Woody, have you built and tested this coil? It seems like the orthogonal coil should give a double response on targets. I would like to see a response map similar to this:

Yup, a null right in the middle. Interesting.

It’s a line null, not a zone null, be like a Super D but I have a cure for that.

                      Hi Woody,

                      I like your idea.

Now make a coil for the GPX series and make field tests and we can forget the GPZ 8000.

The orthogonal sensor is patented several times over during recent history ...

                        for example :

The russians have done alot of work on them .. including a verison that has a "cartwheel" spoked sensor ( PI and VLF )

The problem with this kind of sensor it is reacting to human body, it is like poor shielding, but I am using the same shielding method in DD sensors where is no such problem.
