If you have to make one... DD is much more easy to do... null and shield the right way. Concentric are good for skilled homebrewers only.

The size of the gap in the shield is not dependent on the number of turns. It's just important that there is a gap. Otherwise the shield will act a shorted-turn, and the coil will be unusable.
