      Re: More about bondable wire

      Carl
I have made sandwich type coil forms out of hardboard on the lathe. One disk is turned to the desired ID of the coil with two side disks somewhat larger in diameter. The 3 disks are screwed together making a bobbin which can be disassembled to remove the coil. I have had fairly good luck by coating the individual pieces of the form with parafin using a heat gun. As I get a layer of wire on the form I brush on a bit of nail polish and continue winding. The coil usually seperates cleanly from the form after it dries for a while and is fairly rigid tho it still needs to be epoxied firmly into the coil housing. I tried spray contact adhesive but that made a real mess since it stays sticky. I was thinking an applicator sponge of some type that applied a light coating of adhesive to the wire as it was wound would be worth a try. Using a UV cure adhesive perhaps.
      Good Luck
