Elbombaci, I have two questions:
1. Your apparatus should be fixed on the table because the tension of the wire attempts to overturn it. How is made this fixation?
2. All turns of your coil should be glued together before removing the coil from the form. How is glued the wire in the form?

Similar setup to how i started mine except mine runs horizontal, first of all cut slots into the top plate so you can glue as your turning, secondly get rid of the metal bolts etc because the way it is you cant measure inductance for final turns while its still in the housing, (less metal the better).
On mine started with machined steel plates which looked the business but no good for DIY coils.
As mike said the base the way it stands is no good but you can always clamp it to the bench for the time been, but ideal would be to make a frame work incorperating the coil feeder mech, so its standalone and portable
Looks like the motor drive is same as mine out of a car door winder, perhaps I should have patent it lol.

Nice machine!

I still prefer manual power so I can stop and unwind and handle any problems. But yours looks slick! I feel a winder is almost a necessity for this business!

Why not use acrylic? It's easy to glue, screw and machine!!
