Sure! A PI coil does not aways have to be rigid. I built a flexible coil that I could use in my shoe once that worked just fine. I was using it at a 50us delay (I think) with one of the Stuart PIs. It was not super deep or sensitive but it worked.

I have a discovery World detector which will detect a £1 coin at four inches, I would like to
use the circuit to make a pin pointer.Would this be possible with this type of machine.

Why not? Practically all detectors can be converted to pinpointer. The only question is, if the processing is worth.

I'm going to give it a go, one thing that's puzzling me I opened the 5 inch search head it has two coils 9 ohm's and 1.5 ohm's also it has this one coil of wire that goes full circle amongst
the others and the ends are 1/8 inch apart and are notched in the plastic head?
I guess i will have to use finer wire?
