got new 10'' coil for discovery 1100 and it detects less?

It's strange but possibly in a good way. I get allot less false positives like at one beach i go to registers as a gigantic pile of gold with my older 6" coil. the new one however seems to have trouble finding large objects... like cars. It still detects silver coins that i bury fairly well though and even makes it easier to find them.
