I'm sure he was asking if they were resistors or not, and if so what kind are they, as they are different from the metal or carbon resistors we are use to seeing now days! I am also wondering the same thing.

that would be my guess as-well probably old style 5WWatt's if its a Pi metal detect board, I would think it was for damping resistors.
