  • Help with 'Willy Bayot PPM'

    Hello all,
I have 'inherited' one of these units from a friend of mine who has passed away.
Unfortunately absolutely no documentation with the unit.
I don't know if Willy Bayot is still participating in this forum, last posts go back many years.

Have found some old posts on the forum and downloaded all I could through Wayback machine.
Most documents relate to MkIV version.
The instrument I have has marking:

    PPM Controller Mk VIII
    PPM Front-end MK VII

Does anyone have any info, user guides, schematics, software etc for this unit.

    Many thanks for your help.

Today, it is quite easy to make such a device, given how advanced technology has become cheaper and available to almost everyone.
The appearance of the Arduino started a whole flood of advanced and cheap technology.
Nothing has been the same since then.
Conceived as a learning platform for children, it has long since surpassed that level and launched an entire industry.

The only delicate part in making such devices is still making the sensor.
However, Willy Bayot did it much earlier, when everything was much more difficult.
I had a brief correspondence with him a few years ago. He showed an enviable knowledge of processor architecture.
From that I can draw the conclusion that this is a quality device.
