    Thank you so much..
    1. The TDI PRO isn't sold in UK, Thats one reason to buy it in US. So I dont think they can help. I allso would say that customer service should had said that option.
    2. I will try some more test this evening... Thanks for the good idea to try in all metal with the GB off.
    3. I dont like to open it, before I deside yes or no to use the warranty, because I dont think it can be done with out you can see its been opend up.

    Hi Henrik,

Maybe you could remove the box from the stem. Surely it would be cheaper for you to send just the control box.

Have you tested performance on your gold ring with GB off / Target Conductivity all ? Be interesting to see.

With a brand new detector, the last thing anyone would want to do is open it up. But with you so far away from your supplier or Whites workshop, it is understandable that you are keen to see if there is a simple fix.
With the more recent versions of the TDI family, some of the controls are connected to the pcb via top mounted fittings. Though I have no idea whether your Power off connections are on the top or bottom of pcb. Or if it is soldered or a connector.

Here is a photo I found on the internet of the bottom of a TDI (Pro).

The latest SL variant appears to have connections on the top. (and possible future features like Grab and GB Auto/Lock ! There are unpopulated connections for those. )

Maybe Reg or someone who has done work on this model can offer you some advice on things to check without affecting your warranty. You could possibly get hold of Reg or Zuke_Lynzy. See : https://www.prospectingaustralia.com...orum.php?id=35
Very friendly and helpful people over there.

Because of that I was ready to try my self to find the failure and make it working. (Give up the warranty)...

    Thanks.
    Henrik.
Whites have a UK factory at Inverness. That's a lot closer than sending the detector back to the USA.

    WHITES TDI PRO help please.

    Hi all.
I just got my TDI PRO (with failure). A long waited dream. It came Thanksgiving day from my sister in Vancouver WA, I'm in Denmark. The TDI is brand new un open from a nice dealer in CA.USA.. So the warranty is okay.
My TDI came with two problems! 1. Its Allways ON. The swicth on/off at the gain pot. is not working. Either a switch failure or they forgot to solder a wire at a terminal! That problem is no Big deal and easy to make.
    2. NO sens at high conducted. I did some airtest with some high conducted targets and I have to go close to the coil to get a signal.. (GAIN 5-6) GB fine on, GB coarse 1-5-9 doesn't make much different, swicth in HIGH conducted.

I saw a utube one guy made a airtest and got 12-14" at a Goldring, in my test I got 4-5-6" and with silver coins less.
After a Night sleep I was thinking ! Did I at all made this airtest the right way, like the sens. (GAIN) must go up to 7-8-9
to get good sens. ! And If this is right, then the failure at the Detector is only the On/off swicth. !
Allso with this in mind, that airtest indoor never would tell us how the decetor is preforming.

There is warranty and I should send. But - The reason to ask you some good adwise and ask fore help, is that the shipping is Very exspensive (100-150$ one way) to send the Detector to Whites from my home, and I was told by Whites customer service that I have to pay the return shipping. Because of that I was ready to try my self to find the failure and make it working. (Give up the warranty)...

    Thanks.
    Henrik.
