Strange addition to the potentiometers

Can anyone tell me the purpose of the two little black "cushions" that have been glued onto the surface of the ground balance potentiometers inside the Blisstool V3. I guess they are to suppress interference but I don't think that I've seen them inside any other metal detectors.

Just a guess I would say Ferrite . Guess they thought it would suppress some noise ? See if a Magnet sticks.

They look like small rubber feet with a sticky backing. I suspect this is simply a bodge to prevent the PCB from shorting onto the metal of the potentiometers.

Thank you Qiaozhi and homefire for taking the trouble to reply. I think they are probably there to prevent a short with the circuit board as it lays right on top of them.
