It should be an off-the-shelf alpha-numeric LCD (with dot-matrix characters) using the classic Hitachi control interface. These can be bought with backlight included.

They display 20 characters on 4 lines. Encoding 01 (Latin).
LCD 2004 alphanumeric indicator 20x4.
LCD 2004, 20x4 displays with blue or green backlight.

20x4 should be correct, so I assume it will work. Most of these displays are exactly compatible.
