Hello. I would like to introduce an external speaker system I designed and built for the GPX 4500 and GPX 5000.
I developed this speaker not only to output sound from the detector but also to ensure that faint target signals are heard as clearly and cleanly as possible.
The speaker housing measures 8 × 8 × 4 centimeters. The unit features the speaker itself, a volume control, an on/off switch, an audio input jack, and a Type-C charging port.
This external speaker system has been field-tested by various users. The system does not draw power from the detector's existing battery; it operates on its own internal battery, providing approximately 8–12 hours of usage.
Normally, when a compatible speaker is connected to the original GPX 4500 or GPX 5000 battery packs, the amplifier system inside the battery detects it and enables external speaker output.
However, many GPX batteries in use today are of varying origins, aftermarket, or have previously undergone repairs. Consequently, simply connecting a passive speaker may not result in proper operation with every battery.
The system I have built, on the other hand, comes with its own amplifier and battery. As long as you can get sound through headphones from your GPX 4500 or GPX 5000, you can use this external speaker system regardless of the battery pack's origin or repair history.
