The Lorenz LPX2 does not have a sample delay control, so I suspect it cannot go down to the short sample delay times required for nugget hunting. I would suggest trying a Whites TDI instead.

The Delta Pulse is does not have short enough sample delay to be useful to hunt for gold nuggets.

The Mirage Gold-Max can sample at 6uS, and has found small sub-gram gold in Australia.
