circumference of a circle is = 2pi r
pi = 3.14
r = radios
i don't think the ground issue is coming from vco, because it can be sensitive to ground or old clays with the original vco
if it's too sensitive to coil distance from ground then shield the coil it might help but for mineralization only GEB can help
about depth i'm not sure what you have done there but basically you have to get things right
coil, damping, sample delay, sample pulse width, gains and every thing else
one major depth limiter for you can be the VCO
I tried with the 4046 it was working good but at cost of lower depth (audio problem)
in my opinion the Audio section of any metal detector is as important as other parts if not more
cuz it's the only one who talks to your ears and tells you if there is any faint target down there
basically the middleman between detector and you

here the soil minerals are very high, so VCO without GEB will be difficult to control because the empty land from the target can be read by a machine, if the sens is set according to the soil, if we move the coil sometimes there are higher soil minerals, variations in soil types here are very make it difficult, I use ic lm324 for vco the result is better than using 2 opam ic, thanks for the advice

where is that 2.2uF SAT cap left side connected? pin 6 of LM741 integrator?
did you change the original integrator before that 2.2uF SAT cap?
or this section is just a plug in

2,2 uf audiofhiler conected 1k after 741. This vco must be use GB so that soil minerals are not read as targets

How to set polones so that can to deep detecting i have coil 50cm and what is the circumference formula?? Please help

No i dont use shield, mybe next time, i try to add ground balance and 4046vco,
