Pay attention ,please , after 29 sec from the video -then the cocking ( corcing , cock-a-doodle-doo ) of the cock is heard -of the sound responses of the detector . As well as 2 min –second culling ( big yellow rupee( this coin has an middle time constant , around 60-80 microseconds) ) . Interesting is after 4min30sec-second culling of the rooster –lead bullet of an air rifle -target with short time constant (around 35 microseconds ) ,as well as the interval from 5min , to 5min47sec (then it is the last culling ) . The reactions are always low tone-high tone . The ceramic reaction is not shown (but he could show the ceramic dish , from which the cock is drinking water ) , as well as the magnetite response (I mean, to show up how this prototype is eliminated ceramics and hot rocks –ground rejection ) . But I like this video very much. Thank you so much !

hahahha damn Here's another video showing how it reacts to a brick and black sand

In my opinion, however, this is a serious machine

The author of the design is a registered member here.

I don't think this is open source design.

Nope that's for sure. SD2000 is rather complex design even simplified (MCU, simpler power design) takes a lot of board space.
I would place my bets on a modified "PI Polones" based scheme.

Good handling (and misdirection ) :
-The retention of a coin (hold the coin ) -stopping the arm with the target against the center of the probe , after a sharp swing creates a maximally strong reaction for AC amplifier , which misleads beginner cornerman , creates an illusion of high sensitivity .
-Putting plate ( dish ) full of magnetite with low magnetic permeability (this is visible to the video - slightly stick to the magnet ) on the brick from the old shrimp (a henhouse - for reference -see above #3 ) is also a delusion . Actually elimination of ceramics and magnetite are in very different locations of the ground balance potentiometer . In this case the detector is set to the average value of the reaction to magnetite and ceramics.
-PI detectors tend to show better sensitivity in tests , when close to the probe is the environment with high magnetic permeability . It serves as a magnet core .
Мy compliments for boys with flip-flops .
