A quick thanks to Carl for getting my login approved, and a hello to everyone.
Just got my shipment of Crossbow PI Rev C boards in, placed my order from Digikey for one set's worth of parts (the old spec NE5534AN are tough)...
Going to try some new low Coss devices for switching, and the OPA134 as a preamp. got some fast recovery 1N4148 to try at the front of the preamp.
for my coil, trying Sven's plans using a 10" former, with some nice teflon insulated standed 28ga. - plan is to use that same coil with the Mirage that I'm finally getting back to.
lastly, going to use 2S / 2x of 18650 batteries, probably 3D print a holder that can go in the main tube, along with waterproof and shielded build box.
so between the Crossbow and the Mirage, I'll have a couple ends of the possible gold world covered.
eventually, i may try some arduino based control options to allow programmed control of modes, specifics TBD. this analog system looks very clean, and getting a uController onto timing and controls looks like some good fun experimentation-wise.
time frame - no hurry, got a long honey-do list and limited summer to do some of it.
