  • Minipulse Plus and Deepstar depth performance compared

    I was reading in some forums that the Deepstar, both 1 and 3 are very good and deep detectors for the beach.
    Unfortunatelly we don't have access to their original schematic to have a good comparison.
    I would like to get your opinion of the main differences that can impact on depth performance on the beach between the MPP to Deepstar 1 or 3 as both of them seem to be simple in construction.
    Maybe also if someone used both can give his opinion.

    Another doubt I have, when you say "high powered PI", what this means in practice - battery voltage, pulse rate?

    Hi cristiano.sar,
    I think, "high power PI" means more "amper-turns" in the TX coil for equal diameter of the TX coil in comparison with usually used values for this parameter. Now days, I try to design the project of PI detector with "brutal" TX power for achievement of deepness of some meters for big targets. Soon, I will post my initial design for this purpose.

      Hi Cristiano

      My original Deepstar 1 coil (11.5 inch diameter) has an inductance of approximately 320 µH and a resistance of 4.8 ohms (with cable) at 1 kHz (measured).
