Superscan is old. there was yet not IGBT in the time. if you mean his new detector i know nothing about.

NO better perfomance be cause an ideal transistor does not exist. you have to choice mosfet under
your schematic. if IRF740 840 works good why i have to set IGBT? BTW IGBT is also having
problems in perfomance. there are so much provocative adwertizing, manufacturer must sell
more and more of production, such life of capitalistic industry. IGBT is one.

So what are the best transistors for the sniffer? Only irf740 and 840 for better performance;

there are much mos-fet's besides IRF740, BTW. 2SK1120 2SK727 are 1000V, for example. 2SK1317 is 1500V.

and what? those guys see/notice just the voltage and current, they do not want to see another parameters (blind squirells), excluded all
they do not like.
for example, 2SK1317 has 12 Ohm Rds, while IRF740 has just 0.55 Ohm.
also they forgot that power MOSFET has capacitance on GATE more than on unpower one. it needs a driver.
then you must change schematic.
