A metal detector for searching for gold coins on beaches

I want to make a metal detector to search for small gold pieces on the beach and coins. There are many schematics available here, but what matters most to me is the ability to distinguish between different metals and reject iron. The problem lies in the abundance of metal debris and bottle caps, so I need a device that can clearly discriminate between metals and work efficiently in this environment.

What do you recommend?

Alright, I know that very well. I used to use another account and I've been here for years. I've read almost all the topics and talked with some friends in private about this subject. But when facing this challenge, along with the issue of wet grass and soil, we're always looking for something new.

In general, I really like the Tesoro Golden Sabre device.
I also remember a schematic for a device built by brother ivonic, and he said it works very well.

I'm looking forward to more suggestions.

Is this a search for old coins from a shipwreck that you know has produced these coins in the past?
If that is the case, you should be digging everything apart from iron and the 'lowest ID' non-iron, ( example foil ). The rewards of finding such historic coins makes the effort worthwhile, plus you will find modern coins and occasionally jewellery, as a bonus.

Old coins produced in the past.But the place is near a port and therefore there is a lot of iron.

Probably what you want is a multifrequency detector, the only thing that will hunt in salt and still offer some iron discrimination. You won't find anything that you can readily build. Also, keep in mind that even on the best detectors iron disc is iffy. Some do bottle caps pretty well, some don't. Most don't do chunky iron very well.

Yes, you're right — I won't find anything that I can easily build.
But I see it as a starting point for further research into this type of device.
