  • Water finder system

    Hello everyone
I don't know if the title of this post is correct here or no.
I am looking for information on building a reliable underground water detection system.
if I'm not mistaken, these systems work based on detecting water ions.
If anyone is an expert on building such systems, please share it.

Devices that claim to locate groundwater by detecting ions are scams.

      Thank you for your answer.
Do you think there is a way to do this and is there a schematic to build it?

I don't know a whole lot about groundwater location, other than it tends to involve large complicated systems. One way is to use a ground resistivity meter but it's much larger than the ones that have been discussed here. You need one that can space probes out a hundred meters or so with a high current drive. Another way is to use proton precession, basically like a magnetometer except you are precessing the groundwater. To do this requires a large loop and probably a hundred amps of pulse current. Induced polarization is another method but I don't know a lot about it. There are probably other methods.

You are not likely to find any ready-to-build project for groundwater location, you will need to design it yourself.

This thing works. I checked it
          - I looked for water on the site. Everything worked on the first try.
But why it works I don't know...Click image for larger version

Seismic reflection and seismic refraction are currently the only serious methods.

              These are expensive methods.
But there are "small" attempts that are worth further investigation.
Passive seismic, HVSR method (Horizontal to Vertical Spectral Ratio).
              For starters:

Need a bit "workaround" to get the idea, lot of scattered info on various pages.

It "works" (if you call fooling yourself as "working") by the ideomotor effect.

The ideomotor effect is often cited in various contexts, including:
Ouija Boards Movements of the planchette are attributed to unconscious hand movements.
Dowsing The dowser's hand may move involuntarily, causing the rod to react.
Pendulum Divination Small hand movements lead to the pendulum swinging towards answers.
Facilitated Communication Involuntary movements can influence communication in individuals with disabilities.
The ideomotor effect highlights the fascinating interplay between the mind and body, revealing how thoughts can manifest in physical actions without conscious awareness.

Although the rods appear to move on their own, the movement in initiated by involuntary hand movements. The movement has absolutely nothing to do with being near water.

Dowsing is just a trick of the mind.

If you want to wallow in the fantasy world of dowsing and LRLs, then please go to: https://www.longrangelocators.com/forums/

There are many strict conditions you must comply with.
                    - Do not smoke
                    - Do not drink alcohol
                    - Fast until the time of searching
                    - Be 'clear men' with clear motivations

While searching with the frame, you have to read a mantra. If you are in Islam - one from the Quran. If you are a Christian or atheistic - from the Bible.

                      Your method seems simple.
If I'm not mistaken, it's just a brass metal rod with two handles.
Please explain more about the method.

                            A reminder to everyone:
We no longer discuss so-called "Long Range Locators" (aka LRLs) or dowsing in the Geotech forums. If you wish to discuss these subjects, please register at www.longrangelocators.com

The issue of locating water in depth is a very interesting topic, today more than ever and in the near future it will become a vital issue.
That is why it is a topic that the forum should deal with.
But some members of the forum should give up pseudo-scientific (a more cultural term than "charlatan") methods and jokes on the subject.
George has repeatedly warned that there is a separate forum for such topics.
LRL was never a solution to anything. LRL is for dreamers and people with little education.
Seismic reflection and seismic refraction are very interesting methods not only for locating water but also for many other things.
I think the forum should deal with that.
