Hi Algan,
like KT315 already said Pinpoint mode is All-Metal mode. If you do not press the "pinpoint button" you can also pinpoint targets in normal mode. If you press the pinpoint button you actually switch the circuit only permanently into All-Metal mode.

A motion metal detector requires the search coil to be in motion to detect a target, and its pinpoint mode temporarily switches to a non-motion stateto allow for precise target localization. To use it, first find the target with the motion detector in its standard mode, then activate the pinpoint mode. You will then slowly move the search coil over the target, listening for the audio signal to become loudest at the exact center point, indicating the target's location.
How Motion Detectors and Pinpoint Mode Work- Motion Mode:
In this mode, the detector only beeps when the search coil is moving. If you hold the coil still over a target, the sound stops. - Pinpoint Mode:
When activated, this mode temporarily disables the motion requirement, allowing the detector to signal the target's location even when the coil is stationary. - Steps for Using Pinpoint Mode
- Locate the Target: Sweep the detector coil back and forth over the area until you find the approximate location of the target, which will produce an audio signal.
- Activate Pinpoint Mode: Press the pinpoint button or switch the mode on your detector.
- Center the Coil: Move the search coil slowly over the target area.
- Identify the loudest signal: The sound will become strongest when the coil is directly over the center of the target.

The IDX does not have a static pinpoint mode; the "pinpoint" mode only disables discrimination so it is in a motion all-metal mode. In this mode it should be ground balanced, if it is not then the GB needs to be adjusted. If you want a design that has a true static pinpoint and the GB works in both pinpoint and disc modes, then look at the VLF-Disc design in ITMD3.

Watch this video, discrimination has nothing to do with pinpointing.

If you short C11 and C13 you will have pinpoint mode but not stable balance for long time, that why is used ground balance button .......

I don't see why not... it is the G channel (via U2a) that determines the GB, and it is the targeting channel whether you are in AM or Disc mode. Are you saying if you GB in AM mode it does not remain GB'd in Disc mode?

I practice my hobby and do various tests with different schemes. I can check in the air with a stone about 10 cm thick that in air of all metals it detects a coin from a distance of 30 cm, but in discrimination mode the penetration drops drastically to 10 cm. On the IDX scheme I switch to "all metals" mode, the ceramic detects it as metal, and the ferrite detects it as metal. So I will look for another scheme.
